Not really the place for this, but this tip is profound. If you have plenty of RAM in your DAW, (I have 2GB), you can turn off the Windows Swapfile with confidence. This significantly improves bootup speed, general speed during operations and much less disk thrashing. Really worthwhile.

For many years people have recommended disabling the page file in XP if you have a gig of ram, I do not recommend this unless you have at least 1.5gigs and preferably 2gigs...

Doing this with 1 gig may cause instability depending on your system.

edit: btw I just leave my pagefile @ 1.5x the amount of physical ram on my system... min/max | 1500/1500 (pretty common)
