Beauty is in the eye of the butt holder! I had bought a couple of their large diaphragm condenser microphones some years ago when they first released them. I only spent 70 bucks each. I really didn't like them. Think they have a lousy output transformer. I gave them to a friend who like them for the lead vocalist on the band he was recording so. I can imagine their preamplifiers would be any better? I mean, it is all from China like so many things these days. Crapshoot!

Ultragain pro 8 digital, and it is not "ultragain" from 9 oclock to 10 oclock is like a +5 db difference, 9 isn't enough, and 10 is too much

NEVER EVER BUY A NADY MIC PRE !!!!! THEY SUCK, I HAD TO RUN THE MIC SIGNAL THRU A LINE AMP JUST TO GET ENOUGH JUICE!

What did you expect? If it makes any noise at all, it is a value. But just to be fair...........were you using a condensor, and did you have the phantom power on?
