I am planning to buy saffire 6 USB audio interference. I can record bass with a netbook HP mini 110-3500 with that?
Other option can be Roland V-Studio 20 (specifications say it can be use in netbooks!)
Audio Interface, Mic Preamplifier, Small-format Consoles, Channel Strips, EQ & Compressor from Focusrite
If Roland V-Studio 20 works with netbooks the Saffire should work too?
Can you give me other options to record bass with only a netbook or notebook?
I need it to record only the bass part over the drums! Without effects cause then we will process the signal at my bandmate home studio. Perhaps this is better for latency issues..We are using NUENDO..

I was looking into a similar possibility with a network. The biggest problem I've been told is that they are basically incapable of much of anything. But I find that somewhat hard to believe? Basically the Intel Atom processor is basically a Celeron and so stuff like ProTools won't run on that. Other software might? And it might be adequate for a couple of tracks of recording? But you might find a difficult time finding software that will load into Windows 7 basic? It might do better if you want to load Windows XP Pro or home? Or, Windows 7 home? But basic may be a sickly impossible? Nobody is written anything about basic Windows 7 here that I've seen? Maybe other folks have accomplished this? I'd certainly like to know? I don't see why it shouldn't be possible but Windows 7 basic might be the limiting factor here? I haven't been able to get much information out of anybody about what so basic about Windows 7 basic? What does it lack? What is it capable of? Obviously it's fine for Internet surfing, e-mail and probably some streaming audio and/or video to be enjoyed. But is it capable and can a 10 inch screen be utilized with commercial audio software packages? That's a good one indeed. So I'll be watching this thread closely to see what other folks have to say. I actually almost bought one for that purpose just a couple of months ago but was advised against it by the computer store as they said it really can't do much of anything other than what's it being sold for. Of course, you might be able to find a more expenses net book with a dual core AMD processor which might be more capable? Especially one that might be running windows XP 32-bit version. And you know, you're not just going to be recording bass. That's like saying you are only going to use your bathroom toilet to PEE in. And we all know that's a lie. Soon as you record your bass, you'll then want to record other stuff too. This always happens with everybody. Everybody starts saying they only need 1, then they need 2, then they need 8, then they need 16. Children grow out of their clothing very quickly, so the best thing to do for a child is buy the adult sized clothing so they can grow into them. Never mind if they look goofy, because you don't want to buy all of those kiddie clothes just to have to throw them out a couple of months later. I mean if you want their clothing to fit better, just buy your child some used prosthetic limbs to make them more adult sized and voilà! Marmaduke!
