Has anyone tried to hang 6 inch thick 2X4 panels with these Rotofast Insulation Clips?

I use the Rotofast clips for 2", 2'x4' rigid fiberglass panels.
I use the Rotofast clips for 2", 2'x4' rigid fiberglass panels. They work great in that application, but I'd be concerned about using them with Rockwool. Rockwool comes apart more easily than rigid fiberglass, and I suspect the Rotofast clips would pull out of the material. Being 6" thick also means susbstantial weight hanging from the ceiling. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I'd look elsewhere.

You'd probably be in better shape, in that case. Still, 6" rigid fiberglass is not light, so it might take a few of these per panel. I used four per 2" panel. Eight clips seems like a lot per panel, but I might suggest that many with panels this thick. I could be wrong. Six may do it. Maybe you could ask the manufacturer?

Good to know. Yeah the manufacture doesn't know the weight they'll support.

I've never used them. When I hung my cloud - 2 x 4 @ 4", I first covered it with material, then ran a stiff wire up through the fabric and the panels with a washer on the bottom side - so that it wouldn't pull through from the weight - and then attached the wires to standard drywall hooks in the ceiling...
Although I'll say that the way you are looking at looks to be a lot easier than the way I did mine. ;)
