Best streaming format

Hi,

Im trying to get a website together. On the home pae, I'm using a flash plugin that permits streaming of a loaded Mp3 file.

I loaded one at 96khz. It plays streams ok. A few buffer breaks. But i was wondering whats the best way to do so ? A quality vs size ratio.
