Hey everybody,
This is my first post at RO, so I'll stick to something that should be simple. I just can't seem to get to the bottom of it no matter what I try (and it isn't like I'm new to computers or anything). : )
I'm running Logic Platinum 5 on a Blue & White Mac G3 400 (OS9.1, 512Mb), and I keep running into a problem with the mouse locking up. The pointer freezes on the screen and will not move until the system is restarted. It occasionally happens when I'm not using Logic, so I don't think it is a software-specific problem. The mouse is connected to one of the USB ports on the keyboard, but the keyboard is not affected. Changing USB ports doesn't help. I had the same problem with Logic 4.8 and if memory serves me, this all began shortly after I installed a Lexicon Core2 system. The Core2 is long gone and all the associated software (drivers, prefs, etc.) has been removed.
Any ideas? I'm getting really sick of restarting five times a day while I'm trying to work!
Thanks,
Tony Wallace

Opus,
Norton hasn't found anything (I last tried it about a week ago, and the problem has been occuring for a few months). I'll try out the PRAM thing. Strangely, the mouse doesn't seem to be affected by any one particular task. It usually just freezes when I'm moving it around. This is why I'm so mystified.
Thanks for the suggestions,
Tony

Well, first thing to try is running Norton's(or some other program of the likes)to see if any system files are corrupted.
Next would be to zap your PRAM and rebuild your desktop..TechTools can do that, there's a free version on Micromat.com
If that doesnt help ya then you need to play around with the extensions to see if you have a conflict of some sort..
The big question is when it happens what are you doing and is the same type of task that it freezes on every time?
Let us know
Opus :)
