So here's my situation, right now I'm running adobe audition 3 recording software on my computer and i'm simply using a cheap computer mic to record my tracks. The sound quality is not all that great. So is there another way that I could go about doing this without using a cheap computer mic and also, without getting a mixer.
I'm kind of new to all of this recording stuff and I don't know much about how everything works. I could also get my hands on a good condenser mic but I'm asuming you need to run through a mixer also
So do I have other options, or is the only way to get myself a mixer?

If you want something even easier, go with a USB mic If you're not concerned with quality, it might be the way to go. Samson and Rode come to mind, but I believe others make USB microphones.
CEntrance also makes that Mic Port contraption that can be used in the same manner, but with any microphone. There might be similar devices out there, too.

Someone developed a usb interface that accepts an xlr type mic? Man, to quote an old guy I called Dad, what WILL they think of next:)

You need an audio interface, not a mixer. Do not use your internal sound card for recording audio. It will be the bane of your recording. For a condenser you are going to want an audio interface with a pre amp and phantom power. The Tascam US-1641 and Presounus FP10 are nice.
