Is it normal for monitor speakers to rattle if I'm playing a bass patch from a keyboard? When I play the full mix everything sounds OK, but when I solo the Bass track, he speakers rattle. I am using MAudio BX5a monitors.
Thanks

There could be a lot of reasons for this.
I would begin by making sure your speakers are on a firm stand and also that all the screws in the front of the speaker are firmly screwed in. One thing that has helped me and others is to go to the hardware store or home furnishing store and buy some shelf liner that looks like an open weave material (it comes in colors and is make from some type of rubber) and put that under you speaker. It will couple it to the stand and help make the speaker less prone to rattleing. If you still have problems you may have something inside the enclosure rattleing. Bracing and crossovers are normally glued in and can come loose. I once found a screw inside a friend's speaker that must have gotten in there during manufacture.
