I need advice on web creation tools. This is all new to me. I registered three domain names at godaddy.com Then I got in on a hosting deal that was posted at anandtech. 110Mb space, 6Gb month transfer for $3.90 year. I bought 5 of these hosting plans for $19.50 ! Two for me, one for the wife one for each kid. (Talk about your go daddys!) I don't know WTF I'm doin, but it sounds like fun. :D
Anyhoo, I chose not to have Frontpage extensions, and went with FTP to set up two of the plans for now.
I just downloaded demos of Dreamweaver, flashmx, Fireworks, and coldfusion.

Dreamweaver....absolutely one of the easiest and coolest webdesign tools for the beginner or expert...That's what I use...it basically writes the code for you as you slap a layer or link or whetver into it!!
It has Flash support built right into it so you can do Flash Text and rollover gifs!
If you ever need help on that program I will gladly give you hand in learning it!!
Sounds like a great deal on the site man...

Thanks OPUS, Dreamweaver is what I'll try then.
I have no idea what to use the site for, it was spur of the moment when I found the hosting sale (its over). Don't know how they(cyberwings) can make a profit at those prices, I guess they needed capital for expansion, or they figure customers will be buying upgrades.

What opus said! dreamweaver is more than cool, most likely the best choice for web design software. I still use Netscape Composer too. It's free and easy.

I just did a startup design for a casino http://casinocaribic.com/ using Flash and my client used Go Daddy! . Seems pretty good but they nail you on add ons. The basic package has no cgi-bin, that's something that is a must later on for us. We will stay with Go Daddy until the site is ready to launch. Definitely a deal.

Good luck! It's alot of fun.

Yep, Dreamweaver is a great program, the bundle you've got there is what I use myself. Flash in particular is great fun to use, and a very powerful little app.
BB edit, which comes with Dreamweaver is great for tweaking and double checking on your code.
These applications take a lot of the pain that comes with web design out of the equation, seriously recommend you get the full blown versions of these - you'll save on counselling bills and you won't need anti depressants - you may need a program like Fetch however to upload your work initially.
Kind regards

I've tried all kinds of WYSIWYG web creation tools, and the way I judge them is by the code they produce, If there's tons of not needed code like this

then its a no go.

Dreamweaver in my mind produced the most sane code for a WYSIWYG tool.
It does have its quircks, like all WYSIWYG tools, so sometimes, I do have to go and edit the code to make it the way I want it to be.

but.. there ya go... my 2 cents
