Do you mean room treatment? I use diffusors in back of me and it definately helps.

No, I haven't got any reverb to use with mastering, but maybe I should get one.

I should add that there is many other ways, if not better ways to get the material more "open".

Oh, I get it. Yes i've used reverb during mastering. Not too many times but once in a great while I get a project that benifits from adding a touch of reverb.

I got Lexiverb, D-Verb and the Ren.Reverb from Waves. What would you suggest?

it depends on what you think works best but in general you are probably adding some reverb to increase a little space and depth, you don't want to bring any attention to the fact that your adding reverb to a whole mix. So choosing one that has as little of a "sound" as you can find. depending on the mix and how packed it is will kind of tell you what size room and what kind of room. play around with the pre delay of the room so as not to make it too messy sounding when mixed in. also bring down the high end and low end of the reverb return with an eq. This will keep it a bit cleaner sounding while still adding depth. there are many parameters you can adjust on a good reverb so play around a little. It can get a little tricky because you can't approach it the same way as adding reverb to a vocal or any individual instrument. very rarely is a stock preset going to work in this situation. adding a reverb should be a last resort move. you should first try and bring out what is already there with eq and compression first.

There is a "major" release here in Brazil that I recetly junior mastered within Pro Tools TDM MIX plus environment.
I added a bit of Lexiverb 2.0 halls and Rooms.

Therere were lost of ballads and the thing was damn dry and vocals too much in the face.

Some LPH/HPf and predelay setting with give you more focus.

It sounded fine at the end of the day, helped put instruments into a single ambient, when necessary.
