Hello, just a new beginner starting off with a home studio.
I downloaded Mixcraft to put on the PC and attached an AT4040 microphone via the Icicle XLR to USB converter, and tried recording some audio. Both the computer and Mixcraft recognize the Icicle.
I can't hear anything from it, but it worked yesterday with the AT2020 USB mic. It seems to be a microphone or converter problem, because even using Sound Recorder detects almost no audio.
EDIT: I think it might be a driver issue with the USB Multi-Channel Audio Device.

When I started into recording I thought USB would be a great way
When I started into recording I thought USB would be a great way to get good quality recording done cheaply and efficiently. What I found was almost every product out there had driver issues. You might be fine forever; fine until a firmware update, an OS update, driver update, or just installing a messenger program; or it could be a nightmare from beginning to end. Before I learned this I did have a base model M-Audio unit in my possession for about 4 hours. The reason I owned it for so long was partly due to the slightly over an hour drive between my house and the Guitar Center I bought it from.
the iclicle is plug and play, and doesn't require driver install
the iclicle is plug and play, and doesn't require driver installation, according to it's write up on amazon. Is phantom power turned on?
