I am using a grace 101 with my K2 (another tube mic from rode) with great results for ballads and jazz songs- looks like a clean sounding pre is good with this particular tube mic for this app- might be the same with yours= for rock songs I prefer my sytek with BB- a little more attitude- I suspect that an api or neve clone with a lotta attitude might be the best for this mic for rock and fast songs
