Hi, I asked a favorite band of mine how they recorded the drums on their album and they told me they used a tect mic (among other details)

My question is, what is a tect mic exactly? I know it's a type of mic right? like a very small instrument type mic. I also suspect that it might be a brand of mic. Perhaps a cheap brand from the 70's or 80's? Or even something from Germany? (the band is German, but does a fair amount of recording in the US, so it wouldn't neccessarily be German)

Can anyone help on this?
