background: digi002 console working right now with pop/rock/acoustic tracks.

i've got a chameleon labs 7602, which is based on Neve designs, that includes the preamp and eq. i've never mixed out of the box before, but am curious if it would be wise to start mixing through the 7602 eq. would there be benefits to mixing through the analog eq? is the best way to do this to route a track that i wish to eq through an analog output - go to the 7602 - then back to an analog input on a new track and record the track eq'd performance?

i'm a rookie, go easy on me 8)
