I have lots of music which I ripped with a HiFi turntable, the sound is very clean ish but a bit to conservative for my taste. I was going to start all over again but had a brian wave and bought the VST PSP vintage warmer, I put the music files through with great effect once I found a good setting, it gave it that extra feeling I was after, my question is though should I have done this process at a high resolution or is okay to continue at the usual 16bit/44khz? To my ears it sounds great.
Opinions will vary. Some say stay at the same sample rate/quant
Opinions will vary. Some say stay at the same sample rate/quant from beginning to end. I always do 96K/24bit for sources and render out at the final rate/bit. My software does 32-bit float internally, though.
Try it both ways! THat's the beauty of computers - you can try different things until you get it right.
