Im in the studio with an acoustic demo and they say the Pro Tools plugs are better than Waves,
My first impression is that the Pro Tools plugs sounds abit colder than Waves R comp

I agree with you! The PT plugs aren't bad, but the Waves are really nice.
I could get my mixes to 90% of where I wanted them with PT, the Waves Renaissance allowed me another 4-5% of warmth, color, finished edges, etc...
To me it was worth it.
IMHO, pro tools plugins are almost crap (apart Dverb), Waves are not musical, they sound like plastic. You need other stuff to have a gorgeous sound, like Sony, McDsp, AU.
