DSP chips vs. CPU
Ok,
I figured I'd start this, hopefully in the right place. At this point we have totally confused poor Jonathon and cast doubts on his choice :).

Hello everybody,
My application aims for Active Noise Cancellation, I have to use Microphones and a DSP to digitize the received signal then act on speakers to cancel the noise.
Could you please help me on which criteria that i have to put into account in order to choose the right DSP, and if you have any suggestions concerning DSP evaluation boards ?
Hey guys, brand new to the forum. Just wanted to know what your opinions are on the Saffire Pro 24/24DSP and the Firestudio Mobile. Trying to decide which one to buy, but I just can't make the decision on my own.
Hi
I'm looking to get a new interface and the two that offer the features I need are the Saffire Pro 24 DSP and MOTU Ultralite mkIII.
Does anyone know how the preamps and converters on these interfaces compare?
Greetings:
I am looking for a capture card. It must be a single PCI card, no external boxes, must have 2 balanced stereo inputs - each stereo pair must feed into a single A/D converter/DSP. No other features needed or wanted. No playback facilities needed.
Hi everybody, great forum btw.
I need some advice about what I should do to make my music sound better and commercial, I know that is what everybody is looking for so I'm gonna be more specific.
I have been working on a song for months where all the sounds are from softwares like Quantum Leap's Colossus, Stylus RMX, Hypersonic e.t.c. and arranged in Cubase SX.
Hello, has anybody worked both those cards to tell me any differences in latencies, etc? Will there be any improvements in their new PCIe versions, what do you think? (I think the RME PCIe card is out already, has anybody tried it?) Thanks!
I am looking to buy a set of DSP plugins to ease the load on my computers CPU and wondered if anyone had any experience with :
Powecore
Duende
Liquid Mix
or UAD
I cannot decide which to go for. I am using Cubase SX3 recording mainly Audio. And would mainly like to use good Compression and Eq's
Thanks in advance
I'm so curious about this unit.
"authentic SSL channel strip with filters, E and G series EQ and dynamics processing, as well as the legendary SSL Stereo Bus Compressor"
"up to 32 channels of SSL signal processing and supports sample rates from 44.1kHz to 96kHz"
Anyone running an RME HDSP card will CERTAINLY want to upgrade to these fabulous new drivers. They are much improved over the old 2.94 drivers from 2005, and allow lower latencies with less CPU Strain! 1.5ms should be attainable on most fast systems, and I'm presonally shooting to get the 0.75ms latency working .
