I have an old Yamaha cbx-d5 recording processor which is now obsolete, but I would like to use it's built in effects to send audio to via its in's and out's. the problem is that it has no controls on the front pannel and the only way of controling it is via MIDI. unfortunatly it,s internal rom/firmware which was connected to via scsi is no longer supported buy any modern operating systems so midi is the only way.I was wondering if anybody knows of a way I can control this old box via software? :?

If you have the documentation for the sys ex control info, you could likley access/control the specific parameters and functions with some sort of MIDI controller. The same could be done via MIDI using a sys ex editor and/or sequencer program. Either way, it is going to take a great deal of time and effort to get it all worked out.
