Don't really have a question, but I think the current power supply/noise problem makes for a great discussion. If anybody hasn't been keeping up on this issue, the gist is that the power supplies included with the new dual G5 power macs are so noisey they're spilling over into the analog audio outs. There are also some problems with faulty fans and 'chirping' noises coming directly from the supply!
You would think that with the current PC DAW takeover, Apple would have been a little more careful with their most powerful system yet...thoughts?

I think its a bad example of quality control.
But then again, when you buy a hot-off-the-presses product, you are opening yourself up to these sorts of problems. That's why I always wait until version 2 (or at least 1.05 :D ) before I dive in. Or at least let the reviews surface first.
Okay I'm lying, I wait because I'm broke.

Any way Apple released an update for the Fan control software. early reports are good.
Apple also released OS10.3.3, It integrates mLanB into the operating system.
That means any mLanB device doesn't require a driver.
mLanA devices will require firmware update, all updates are available at mlancentral.com
Moments after Apples OS release Yamaha released mLan Tools for OSX.
It's a control panel for all mLan devices.
XP support for mLanB is due at the end of the month.

Last I heard it looks like a firmware update fixes the fan problem. Some people are now receiving updated motherboards.
The audio noise is over the onboard SPDIF, not an issue if you have a PCI,Firewire, or USB audio interface.
