I own a MOTU 2408 mk 1 and the Hedd 192.
I use DP 3.11.
My question is:
will I be able to record a 24/96 file in my Dp using the onboard SPDIF of the 2408?
If the 96khz doesn't go thru the SPDIF what about the 24 bit?Does it go thru at least?

The SPdif protocol is able to handle 24/96, so you should be set
The SPdif protocol is able to handle 24/96, so you should be set provided that the MOTU 2408 MK I and the version of DP you're using are 96KHz capable as well; I'm afraid about the MOTU, which in its first incrnation (MK I) wasn't already built for hi res recording, not 96KHZ and maybe neither 24 bit.
