I've been reading some good posts on both of these mics..

e609 comes up more often than the e606, but I've read elsewhere that they're actually the same mic... which seems odd to me as there's a £30 - £50 price difference and they're both listed on the Sennheiser website.

I heard they're both good for guitar sounds, but the e609 is quite dark sounding and the e606 less so, capturing a brighter feel.

I'm looking for something to compliment my SM57 on close Micing my amp for studio recording.

They'll be running through a Seb 4000e - and I'm looking for a NOFX/Blink/Rise Against sorta tone. Fat and heavy yet crisp.

Any help? suggestions?
