howz it goin' all,
got a mate who has been bugging me to ask the "pro's" about the ad8000 converters. He is looking to buy, but he wants to know what others have encountered with the apogee, are there other recomendations? He is currently running RME, Yamaha digital console, pc based.

I think if he's interested in the AD8000 he should look into the new apogee rosetta800 which is very flexible and I was told (by apogee no less, FWIW) was there best sounding Apogee converter to date...It goes for about about $2600.00
I dont think you should get to caught up in that RME ADI-8 verses the Apogee AD8000 comparison that was released on the net a while back. though I have heard the RME is a great piece at 8 channels of A/D/A, it was a marketing release from a biased German company trying to pump up the RME.
