hey peeps, need sum advice, in process of buying a new pc which is quite powerfull, probs gna be a quad core so power should be caple for many progs.

n e ways currently using

DUAL DIAPHRAGM CONDENSER MICROPHONE B-2 PRO running into
Behringer Eurorack UB1204FX Pro (although bigger version cant remember model)
then into a standard on board soundcard.

have been getting inconsistant vocal recordings, sum time good sum times terrible.

as moneys tight the mics gna have to stay, but as mentioned gotta new pc coming so would like to know should i look at a preamp instead of mixer was looking at this

No, forget about that tube preamp. It's not where it's at.

What you want/what you need is an external, FireWire type interface with 8 reasonable quality microphone preamps. A popular unit with quality results can be had from Presonus for between 500 to $800 US. You can still use your existing mixer for multiple microphones to be recorded to a single track or tracks.

The icing on the cake is that it will be bundled with a piece of quality LE (limited-edition) software that's multitrack oriented with great processing plug-ins. It's all that you need in one simple purchase. Then you can start your microphone accumulations.
