A friend of mine lent me an AKG C480B mic,

What do you think of the microphone, what did you use it for?
and would i be ok to record vocals.

It can be used on vocal but ymmv .... There should be a foam wind screen. I would use it or a pop stop screen, for any vocal application ....

It's a very good mic. I use it and have used it at times where I wanted/needed to use a small diaphram pencil condensor mic. Vocals would be the absolute last place I would use that mic - but then there are times I'm sure when it would be just perfect.
