Hey RO'ers, I am an indie producer and at this time I haven't had the cash to really sink into my basement studio. When I am recording vocals I can hear the reverb from the walls of my basement while we are recording. Does anyone know of anything that I may be able to do to compensate for this? I have tried turning down the trim levels on the mic input, but I can still here the reverb. As I said I don't have a lot of cash at the moment so any "temporary" fixes suggested would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Pull some heavy covers off your bed and some heavy curtains (get some also at the Salvation Army Store) and put them around the room. When you get enough money you can purchase some real sound absorbing material from you local GC store. Turning done the trims on your microphone pres will not do a thing for the echo you are getting off your walls.
