I'm looking at switching to DP from PTLE, and was wondering if anyone had any experience with it, and how well it imports and exports PT sessions? Any other comments on it? I've got a shiny new G5 on the way, and I'm tired of the limitations of PT.

Also, I don't see a lot of control surfaces aside from the Mackie. Can anyone point me to something along the lines of Digi's Control24 or ProControl setups? I've been thinking about biting the bullet and getting the new SSL DAW controller/mixer, but that's $80k.

I own DP4, but my main DAW is Logic7.

DP supports OMF import/export. But you would need the DV Toolkit to get a version of Digitranslator that will convert PTLE sessions into OMF. There is no way to directly open a PTLE session.

The Digidesign control surfaces only support PT.

It's a beautiful app, deep and wide. Comes with a good set of effects plugs.

I use it for printing out scores.

just switched to DP from Sonar... works quite well... as for PT, all I know is that it has additional support to run as a front end...

you should be more than happy with DP over PTLE, wish i could give you more info... OH, fyi: DP does not support multiple outputs for audio units and is not VST compatible... for me, this was a hang up cause i could not use all the outs of kontakt 2... BUT, mach five and dp play well together in regards to multiple outs...
