Hi recently I aquired, at the right price (free) a box known as a UREI model 562 feedback supressor. Looks like a 5 band parametric eq to me.Anyone out there have any familiarity with this piece? Any info greatly appreciated.

Its got 5 "double dials" across the front (outside knob is for freq.- inside for depth- with a little switch by each one thats labeled "x10" to the right of that is a low cut and high cut knob. The input and output on the back are XLR. Right now I'm using a Mackie 1604 VLZ as my board. I've also got an HHB Fatman tube pre/compressor. How would I go about integrating this piece into my rig? Thanks!

The 562 is a tool for live/install guys to put on the monitor mixes as far as I'm concerned. It consists of five 1/6 octave cut only filters with sweepable freq. and depth (Does that make them quasi-parametric?). The setup switch kicks a diode limiter into the system so you can induce feedback and not have it blow up speakers.
I use one for notching objectionable things out when I need a really narrow cut that I can make really deep. If you stack all the filters on top of each other, the width gets kinda funky, but the depth is huge ;-)
It's not a recording tool per se, but it'll do when you need narrow notches of cut.
