Hey guys,
I've got a request, but I'm not sure if these are the right forums to come asking. If they aren't, please point me in the right direction, because Google did not.
There is a particular audio file I have of an old song that has some damage. It's mainly that annoying crisping sound throughout the song, but it really bothers me because it's such a beautiful song.
I'd like to ask someone with the right set of skills to edit and "clean" the file of this noise, and also enhance the sound quality to match today's standards as much as possible.
Also, if you charge for this kind of service, I'd like to know how much you want for it.
Thank you in advance.

It's actually a very old music file. It has nearly 2 decades, I can't know for sure. I recovered it from my old desktop which still had Windows '95 and surprisingly worked. I didn't make it myself.
I have managed to find the exact same track I have on youtube.
It's the version of the song I have. The noise sounds the same too. I guess it's the recording that is bad. I'll have to live with it =(
Thank you very much for your quick answer and honesty. I really do appreciate it a lot.

Damage? Crisping? Are you talking overload? Distortion? If that's it, there isn't much you can do. That's a mistake you either have to live with or recut with your gain dialed in better. Bottom line, your technique needs work and that's all. Anything that is overloaded/overblown can be improved slightly but never eliminated. I know that's a large pill to swallow. Programs that have distortion elimination generally muddy the sound so as to smooth out the rough nastiness. But that's a Band-Aid and not really a fix. And it varies by how much overload you have already created.
I'm $80 per hour US
