I am a drummer with an electronic kit and am looking for a PA to use for my drums and the rest of the band. I am considering a Bag End P-S18E-I powered subwoofer. My question relates to the speakers. Is it recommended to use the same brand on top? Will there be time-align problems and if so, how do I correct them? Will any brand give good results? What do you look for when matching a sub to speakers? Thanks.

PA for electronic drums and the band

Hi, fibes
If I knew what your style and intended audience was and of course your price range, I would be able to tell you something appropriate for your situation. It's been my experience (since '68) that you can mix and match a bunch of different brands and get great results as long as you persue good sound and electronic principals.

you will not lose anything by using different brands of speakers together.
you will not have any time problems provided that the mains are directly above the subs or aligned with them so that neither set is further forward.
things to look for are mostly that there is no "hole" in the frequency spectrum between the range of the mains and of the subs
