Did some bass over tracking last night, I did not like the sound the bassist had gotten during drum tracking. The bassist brought a Conklin 7 string bass, nice instrument and this Aquilar box

It had a great ability to tone shape and had a nice drive sound, not really sure if it was mostly the instrument or the pedal or both. Was wondering if anyone had used this before and how it might compare to a SansAmp unit or any other similar bass preamp/DI. I have been thinking about adding something like this to the collection. It cost around $200.00 and that is affordable.
