Hey Ro'ers quick question, I am using PT, and I am wanting to experiment more with setting up vocal tracks, so I guess what I want to know is if I want to use compression on vocals during the recording process, would I insert the compressor directly onto the vocal track or use a send and setup a comprressor on an Aux In? Second, if I would like to be able to let the singer here a little bit of depth in their voice to get a better performance during recording, would I set up an Aux In, with Reverb and send the vocal to this Aux?, and would I have to enable the pre button on the send fader? I don't want to record the reverb while recording the vocals but I want the person to be able to hear themselves with a little reverb, so as to draw out the best possible performance and add a little depth. I'm thinking that I would have to do both things in that way, but I just want to make sure. Also, is it better to record vocals with the mute butto enabled or disabled? I have been doing it while the mute button is enabled, because most vocalists don't like the sound when it isn't enabled. Sorry for the newb questions I should already know this but I just need some clarification. Thanks.
