I've posted very few times on this forum but it is probably the best forum I've seen when it comes to getting advice from true professionals. I couldn't help but learn from the post that talks about the Mackie Hr824's. I've generally been of the thought that the Yamaha's were too midrangey. Mostly because I started mixing when I was about 21 and quickly discarded them as being to "thin". I have since been monitoring on some Meyer HD1's. I have had pretty good mixes in my opinion but would greatly appreciate someone as experienced as yourself to evaluate some of my more recent work. I've been feeling that something is wrong with my reference for about 2 years now but haven't quite been able to pin point it. If you coud hear some of what I've done, I think that you could possilbly help assertain where my problem might lie. If you are willing to do this I could send you a couple of MP3 files so that you could hear my mixes. I understand the problems that MP3 files pose but a ballpark evaluation is better than none.

I am 30 yrs. old now and feel that I'm at a point where I'm just starting to really grasp this audio mixing thing. I WANT TO "MAKE IT IN" THE BUSINESS! I don't want to stay ignorant about things. P.S. I think I have some of those old JBL 4311's that you talked about stored somewhere gathering dust. I would be interested in how it is that you can optimize them for your control room.
