Man, take me back 20 years when I was touring full time as a techno band playing top 40, this DAW would have been a real asset. The big difference between then and now is I had to program everything including build and configure all my samples. I have to say I loved the whole concept back then and even though it was electronic drums, synths and samples, I still felt like we were creating music from people.
The music from these DAW's all seem to have a similar sound and beat structure that is dark and hypnotic. As cool as they are, and I'm guessing sound really clear and punchy, they remind me of high tech radio shack kids toys in the hands of pro audio.

Its weird to me and frightening that people actually can live with this style of sound in their minds all day. I feel it creates a really dark world that is so far off of organic, its scary.

That being said, I would love to have one and wonder if I could use this for a writing tool that didn't force everything to sound like Ableton Live underground club music, trance or whatever you call it(?
Could we use it to create plain old rock and roll grooves with 1 4 5 patterns and walking bass etc (of course, really modern sounding though)?

I'm wondering if you can break these sounds and patterns down to a more organic sound and structure.

Moving on, when these guys say they take the DBeat on tour, what types of gigs are they doing with them and what is the crowd they are playing to all about?
