Flavy..! Dear...

Your idiot response to comments made by the replying poster(Right OR wrong) who at least tried to listen to your stuff, don't go anywhere toward making me want to bother listening to your stuff... That and the absolute fact that if I click on something, expecting to download a song(For instance) and come up on ANY OTHER PAGE - to say nothing of an ad or a "wait" or whatever, I'm gone - and I'm mad - at YOU! I PAY for my download abilities - you would download anything I want you to listen to from my own .Com, web site - period - not some "freebie" crap site. We be perfeshinalls, here!

BTW: This is the "recording studio" forum section, not the "listen to my stuff" section(Unless you're trying to resolve some specific technical problem, maybe?). Possibly, there is a "listen to my stuff" page elsewhere on the forum - or on some other forum?

Now, go to your corner and... "listen to your stuff",

Teddy G.

OK Flavy, since everybody else here gave you a big bite in the butt answer, I'll put in my two cents worth. First, I didn't like the " download here" site. But I went on to check out the " download here also" link and found your song example.

Your ambient drum set, is not ambient, its distant. There's a difference between ambient and distant. Also the cymbals sound closer to me, then the rest of the drum set, with too much high-frequency boost! It also sounds like you have over crushed (too much compression) the overall mix, removing any excitement from the sound. The music is not exactly my cup of tea but then we're not talking about the content, just the technique. You are using, for what it sounds to me, a poor usage of dynamics plug-ins? Remember, less is more especially for this kind of raw sounding music. So even though you may have made a wrong turn on your way to Carnegie hall, I think if you just turnaround and make a left at the next guitar, you might find a place?

How many miles per gallon do you get with that drum set?

So your link takes me to a page that says click here for the premium version or here for the free version. And then 5 secs later, up pops the first ad-popup I've seen in months...... right through my blockers.

So you can see how that puts me off listening to your music.

Mate, I'm not trying to be an A-hole. Just giving you the heads-up.

i clicked on the "download here too" link and didn't get any pop-ups, so that's ok.

on the clip itself i agree with remy. the drums and guitars sound like they've been recorded with two mics at the far end of the room. no punch, only a lot of mud. if you recorded the drums and guitars with close mics, too, then mix those first. when you got them right, bring in the ambience mics until it breathes, without getting muddy.

i would also compress the bass guitar to get a constant tone for your foundation.

just my thoughts.
