I thought that since you guys help me out with a lot of my problems. I'd offer you a gmail account. It's completely free and you get 1 gig of space. Very nice thing to have! The first five people to reply with their email address gets an invite. After a month or so each of you will have 6 invites to hand out. It's still in beta testing and I think they are trying to get as many people on as possible. From what I've heard there hasn't been much down time if any at all.

Thanks!

Seen minority report?

Where the public TV screens change to appropiate advertising for you, and speak to you by name?

I apologise in advance if I am the only person who sees this as headed in the wrong direction...

Its not that I dont have anything to hide, its that I dont feel the need to become any more of a 'target market'....

I have also realised that this is a really strange way to break my lurking on this board...

I generally steer clear of any threads here that have nothing to do with audio, but come on, man. I love my gmail, and I think you might be the only person that finds email in any form to be inherently evil. I haven't seen Minority Report, but I can say with 100% certainty that I would never allow a dumb movie to shape my views of the reality of the world. Kill your TV and read a book. Conspiracy theories(ists) suck, and life's WAY too short to be paranoid all the time about the world around you.

Sorry, just to clarify, I don’t think EMail is inherently evil, never said so, and certainly wouldn’t be on this forum if I was worried about such things... also, don’t have a TV, and wouldn’t let one in the house... it was just a site I had pointed out to me. Everyone is of course free to make their own decisions. I personally don’t like the idea.

In regards to the movie, I don’t think it is shaping views as to desensitizing, as is the purpose of most media these days - making wrong things seem a little less wrong through repetition...

Incidentally, I also acknowledge that this doesn’t have much to do with audio, but then, neither did the original post, and I don’t want to take this forum in the wrong direction, is there a general forum it could be moved into?
