A nicer older digital unit would be the Roland 660 digital parametric.Can be bought cheap.For really good 31 bands, Urie or the Whites.

And for nice EQ without snob appeal, look at the Rane units. The GE30 is an interpolating model, which is a step above the standard 31-band types. Rane EQ are cheap and plentiful on eBay, at very reasonable prices. I'd never buy one at new price. I own several, including the GE30.

I had a Rane PE17 parametric and it was a nice machine... but... I don't do well with knobs. It would be fine for use with an analyzer, but less suitable for a visual cueing.
