I stumbled over this plugin called ProTrig the other day when I was looking for drum triggering software and it seems to me when looking at YouTube and at their site that is very good. Im considering buying it once the mac version is released. Just wanna know if someone here has tried it. Is it easy to setup and is it any good?

I didn't realize that was a new concept. I've been doing the same thing for years with the SoundReplacer software in ProTools. When I started doing it, I would use a drumstick to hit a phonebook to get a nice clean spike. Eventually I moved to just tapping the mics with my fingers. (you can do a lightning fast roll if you're using 4 fingers). Make my own soft / medium / loud samples from some good session drummers from other projects and stick them in SoundReplacer. It wouldn't put a good drummer out of work, but it beats the heck out of trying to program feel into a drum machine.
As someone who has played guitar, bass, and keyboards for over 30 years, my hands (and feet) know what they're doing. But since I'm not a drummer by trade, I haven't developed the large muscle coordination it takes to play drums with any precision.... but take sticks, pedals, and big motions out of the equation and I can play the crap out of a desk!

Okay, that was impressive. At first I thought "no big deal" until they started jamming with the desktop and tin cans.
I wonder though if you couldn't do the same thing with something like [[url=http://[/URL]="http://www.toontrac…"]Drumtracker[/]="http://www.toontrac…"]Drumtracker[/]?
