In an earlier post I asked help with designing a laptop system, and want to thank Opus and LittleJames
for their support. I guess that laptop really isn't the way to go for several reasons, I just like the idea of portability. Anyway, I have been trying to decide whether to try to upgrade my P3 500 Mhz Micron PC which is about two years old, or to buy a system that will really kick ass! I don't know that I need 2 processors because realisitically I will not use more than 24 tracks with about 4-5 plugins max per track. So, if you were going to sink the cash, how would you go? If the answer is a new system, where would you buy it, and who would you have set it up. If someone would give me their list of a great system while keeping cost reasonable, I would greatly appreciate it. Also, have you guys seen the PreSonus digimax LT? Looks pretty cool. Wondering about that vs RME vs MOTU 896. Thanks. Rob
