Hi there:
I am new to this discussion group. I am also new to this concept of "home recording"...
I recently bought m-audio 1814 firewire audio interface with the idea in mind of recording my electric guitar, singing over it, adding some drums and bass...etc. and basically developing and playing with some ideas.
Ableton live lite version was complementary to m-audio.
I installed the drivers, softwares and everything, connected m-audio properly. But somehow I couldn't manage to record my guitar or my voice. I checked both m-audio and ableton's websites. It didn't help. To me, it seems pretty complicated.
As I said I am a total novice. And yet, I am a very fast learner. So can somebody help me and simply tell me what to do to record my guitar and/or my voice through ableton...or maybe some other software...please?
I appreciate any help.
Thanks.

Ok, really awkward question, but you do have a mic to pick up your voice, right? And the guitar you can plug into one of the mic/line inputs.
