Hey,

I have a problem.

on Adobe Audition, or REAPER or any other audio program they dont seem to find my microphone input/output device :s. The only thing that is listed are my speakers of my computer.

http://www.conceptr…"]Conceptronic.net[/]="http://www.conceptr…"]Conceptronic.net[/]

this is my headset.

I succeed to record through Audacity or just the regular sound recorder,
but I fail to find the device.
For example if I want to edit my input and output sound on adobe audition, to hear myself WHILE recording, only my speakers are listed in the list (Sigmatel Audio device) and not my headset which I think is USB.

can anyone help me? Because I want to hear myself while I am recording something and not just record something and then play it to hear myself.

thanks

You most likely haven't told the audio programs to recognize the drivers of your audio interface (your USB headset).

Have you installed the software that came with the headset? In reaper, navigate to this page:

In the box on the side that says "sound output device", select the device you are looking for as this will initiate the correct audio drivers in Reaper.

Just so you know, all DAWs in Windows use a protocol called "ASIO" (Audio Stream Input Output) and this is required to operate at the proper latency and to utilize multichannel audio.

I am curious as to how you're recording if you're only using a USB headset, which probably only has audio output. The problem you may face is once you change the output device to your headset, reaper will no longer see the sigmatel inputs and thus you will exchange no output for no input.

Cheers :)

I am not sure if it is a usb headset, check the link in my first post please.

I didnt have software coming with my headset.
I do use ASIO, but thre are only my boxes listed (Sigmatel HD audio) and not my headset. I cant find it anywhere there
so if I want to link to ASIO and still fails for me.

my headset has a mic + headphones

You've now confused me. The title of your thread is "How to hear myself while recording? (USB Headset)"

Do you have an audio interface? The headset you have seems to receive audio on a standard 1/8" jack. If you don't have an audio interface and you're using your onboard sound card you need this:

[[url=http://[/URL]="http://www.asio4all…"]ASIO4ALL - Universal ASIO Driver[/]="http://www.asio4all…"]ASIO4ALL - Universal ASIO Driver[/]

If you've got an audio interface, plug the headphones into the headphone jack. You'll need to monitor through your DAW to hear yourself.

Cheers :)

this is what I get -> Sigmantel are my speakers

how do I monitor through my DAW (sorry I am really noob in this stuff, could you otherwise come on teamviewer so you can control my PC?)

Ok, now we're making progress. You're running your on-board soundcard with the ASIO4ALL driver.

What you'll need to do is set the buffer settings at the bottom left of the ASIO4ALL window to a low setting, such as 128, or even 64 samples per buffer. Then, in Reaper, you need to set the input of an audio track to the relevant input that you are using (most likely 1 or 2) and make the output is routed to your Sigmatel master out.

You then have to make sure the audio track is in monitor mode for you to be able to hear what you are recording:

If you want to do teamviewer, I have it and can help you that way if you want.

Cheers :)
