HELLO!

I saw somebody once capture the peaks from an audio track and convert them into a midi file. Using Logic Pro 7.

I cannot remember for the life of me how they did it!

Can anybody help?
ps. I can't get in contact with the guy who I saw do it.

HELLO! to you too.
That's an easy one.
Double click on the audio region you want to work with. From the factory menu select 'audio to midi doowacky'. Thats it. Fiddle with the controls if you want to, click 'use'. A midi region will be in the arrangement directly below the audio region.
Where? It goes for midi tracks first, then audio instrument tracks but will happily be generated on an audio track too. If you can't find it, it might be 100's of tracks down.
Sadly, like most things, it seems to require a bit of human-ness to get exactly what you want, still it is awesom.
Enjoy
