Making XLR to 1/4" TS cable

I am trying to make an XLR to 1/4" TS cable for my Eventide Eclipse.
I am using it in the effects loop of my guitar amp. The effects loop is unbalanced, but the Eventide unit MUST be connected via the XLR jacks.
I know I need a 3 conductor cable, and I know how to connect the XLR end, but what do I connect the last wire to on the TS end of the 1/4 TS plug?

You can use standard guitar-cable type 2-conductor cable. Just wire in a tiny jumper wire from pin 1 on the XLR plug to pin 3 of the XLR plug.

BTW, if you already have the 3-conductor cable, you can just take the wire connected to pin 3 of the XLR and stick it on the sleeve of the TS jack along with the cable shield (pin1 XLR).
