Well, it's about time I speak up again and do my announcement of what's to come in the future of 2003!
The biggest news...800Mhz FSB Intel P4 processors starting at 3.20ghz!
Intel will be releasing the 865 and 875 chipset series in a month or so to come.
These puppies will do a bandwidth of about 6Gb or more between the CPU and chipsets(North to MCH and so forth!)
Bottlenecking is slowly going away!
The bad thing is now we have to wait for motherboard manufacturers to start implementing these chipsets and get them out! Who knows how long that will friggen take!
As in example the Granite Bay chipsets from Asus, AOpen and Gigabyte took forever and were backordered and delayed for way too long!
These new chipsets are all base on the Dual channel DDR platform(support DDR400 for true quad pumped 800Mhz systems!) This allows the bandwidth to be truly synchronous to the CPU!
AMD 64 Bit processors are still in development and won't be released until much later this year, this is why Intel is now pushing their higher FSB to keep their lead in the game going.
What happens when AMD does release the 64 bit CPU's is anyone guess.
Western Digital is about to release the Raptor! The 10,000 RPM SATA drive with an 8MB cache! :D

well, for one, people will install Linux on them, once the motherboards are out, as 64 bit processor is already in the kernel....
who knows when or if windows will ever be 64 bit
:c:
