Hey everyone,

I've been recording some voice lines for video via Audacity and recently have had the problem of audio crackling. My Razer Seiren is almost brand new, so I can't imagine there is anything wrong with the hardware. Any ideas? Thanks!

Crackling is often a driver or a buffer problem. Could be the USB port, try others on your computer
In anycase, the first thing to do is to check the audio settings in Audacity. Check if you can put it in Asio and or choose a higher buffer setting.

We rarely hear '' Wow, that USB mic is great'' here on recording.org :cautious:

Thanks for the response. The default buffer was at 100, so I moved to 200 and 500, but nothing changed. Any ideas?

  • Try more like 1024 and work your way down.
  • Edit: Also take your computer "offline" and deactivate your firewall.

  • You may also need to whitelist the USB device. You need a clear USB port.
