Hi again,
Trying to import to Paris 3.0 an Omf file exported from Nuendo.
Stereo (interleaved) files imported as mono.
Any advice?

If you are using a mac, you can download OMFTool and see what happens.
In OMF, there is no such thing as interleaved stereo files.
Agreed. However, PT 5.1 can handle stereo interleaved tracks. Shouldn't OMF, being Digi's pet, handle those 2?
I use a PC 4 the Paris, Mac 4 PT btw.
I'll try and "filter" the file through PT, good advice.
I'll post also in the Steinberg thread.

OMF is Avid's pet and development was stopped a while back. OMF was developed to facilitate transfer of Avid audio which doesn't support interleaved files. Development of OMF has stopped.
There are a number of gotya's which make it difficult for developers to make OMF work. The code was altered without agreement and because original OMF supporters did things by the book , OMF had a rocky start. Also, OMF has to reside on a mac format drive which is not really cross-platform.
The best solution to this is to pressure your favourite software developers to support the AES31-3 BWF (Broadcast Wave Format). This Audio Decision List format (ADL) supports all sample rates and bit depth to sample accuracy with 96 tracks. It is based upon archiving to a FAT32 drive which mac system 9.1 can read/write and is of course NT and MS compatible.

I believe that Nuendo supports Broadcast Wave, Paris doesn't.
When imported back to Nuendo the omf file produced the same stereo files - no problem.
All facts considered, the files must have SOME stereo indication within omf. (If they were split mono Paris would have imported them). Any ideas?
Any good PC alternatives 4 Digi Translator or Omf Tool you know?
