The term "stereo linking" is in regards to compressors and limiters ... it has nothing to do with pre amps. Essentially, there is no real advantage to seprerate or stereo pres ... other than perhaps only one power plug to deal with with a stereo pre ... often people who are very freakey about audio prefer seperate units, because of lower crosstalk and power supply interaction.
