Trying to decide between ASUS A8V DELUXE (Via) or GigaByte GA-K8NS ULTRA (nForce3.) Does it matter that I'll be getting an nVidia graphics card? I'll be using close to an even mix of VSTis and audio tracks(if that makes a difference.) I keep going back and forth on various aspects of my future DAW, it's kind of driving me nuts(my wife too.) Anyway, what are the opinions on these two boards? Or does it even matter, I'm not looking for 100 tracks! Thanks.

Via has left a bad taste in many people's mouths due to really bad PCI protocol implementation in the past. They still have issues with PCI timing on the data transfer of file sizes that can cause corruption.
Via has offered patches and updates but always seem to fail in one crucial stage of the chipset.
With that in mind most people tend to completely stay clear of any motherboard with Via on it. The desired chipsets these days are Intel, Nforce or AMD. In the long run they are not the deciding factor to how many tracks or VST's you can run. Go with the Nforce and know that you are good to go!

where with the Nforce 3 there is no issues.
Via firewuire is not known to be great.
the Via seems to work well with most audio interfaces now compared to a few yrs back.
