That I am using for some home recording stuff.
Now I am interested in getting PA system so my band can gig and let people pay us to use the PA instead of the other way around.
So, first, I am needing to sound an about 80-200 person venue, so about what size'ish am I looking at, and what are the "Go to" speakers for this size. If I y'all could point me at a high quality one, and the "bang for the buck" I'll be very appreciative.
Also, I am looking for some monitors, what can people recommend there? I know I don't need crazy sound quality like the others, but what are my options?

What kind of bands do you want to rent gear to?
If punk, then a low budget will work.
If metal, country, or jazz - you need to get some quality gear.
Cheap self powered cabinets like JBL Eons, Mackies, Fender Passport systems and so forth are between 500 - and 2000 bucks each, and that doesn't include stands or subs to sit them on. I wouldn't recommend any of them for punk or metal, though I have mixed many a country act through Eons and Mackies.
Passive cabinets will end up costing you as much if not more when you start purchasing amps, processors, racks, etc...
A cheap self powered monitor is gonna be about the same (Eons double as monitors, BTW).
What you can get away with (I did, many moons ago), is a 6 or 8 channel powered mixer with some old used cabinets found on Ebay or Craig's List (Sunn, Peavy, etc.) and a small amp with a couple small wedges running off one aux or FX send on the mixer.

If you are going to be gigging this stuff, you need something robust yet easy to lift and assemble. Much as I dislike the sound from plastic loudspeaker cabinets, I think a pair of plastic powered speakers are your best compromise here. Try the units from Mackie or JBL and see what you can get within your budget. I'm assuming these will be used mainly for vocals in combination with backline amps on stage, as I wouldn't want to put a bass guitar through plastic PA speakers.

The Eon15 G2s are nice, they sound far better than the old 15p's.
They have an onboard eq and mixing feature, good bang for the buck. I've been purchasing those as replacements for our old 15p's.
You could make some money renting out 2x 15G2s for FOH and 2x 10G2's
for monitors, and with that money you could eventually step up to the Mackies, or better yet - some Meyers (UPAs, CQ1s, PSW2s)...

i used to work at a music shop and did tons of A/B comparisons between the eon and srm models... the mackies always came out with a better sound. i bought a pair and they've treated me well. thumbs up to the mackie actives!

You got me there, Dave. I was speaking from my personal experience.
I've never heard or used the SRM's, I have a few on my shelf - perhaps I'll take a listen.
I meant he could jump up (from the G2's) to the Mackie SR's or SA's, or go further into Meyer or EAW territory (the EAW695's are great speakers combined with the SB528, and I love the SM400 monitors)...
OK, a little higher priced than 500-1500 bucks, I know...
