i'm just getting setup to mix tracks that i've recorded into my Tascam 2488 on a laptop using Cubase sl. i have Behringer 2031a truth powered monitors, and i'm wondering how to plug them into the laptop. i've heard from some people that a $5 1/8 inch to balanced line converter will do, while others have told me that a usb or firewire interface with a monitor out is in order. the difference is atleast a $100 -- my question is, is there a difference? keep in mind that its just for monitoring, not recording. thanks!
