Hi

I posted this on gearslutz but someone said better here so here we go:

I'm planning to organize a tour and I have lot of questions coming to my mind and was wondering if someone with some experience would be willing to help me make things clear in my mind.

I know lot of bands of a very good level. I decided I want to try to organize a tour for these bands.

now I went into details including how to move from city to city, lenght etc.

now few questions I don't have yet answer for?

1 Where can I find a booking agent?
2 Where can I find a tour manager?
3 Where can I find the money to start the overall thing (read it as sponsorship/investors)?
4 which one is the cheapest option to make it real?
5 Nightliner or shared rooms what's best?
6 who could be interested in helping out (label, magazine, radio)?
7 How can I approach such people to involve?

any advice is welcome please!

I have this great opportunity and really want to make it through!

Pick up a Musicians Atlas at your book store or online.

2 Where can I find a tour manager? message me! I am a TM and I have friends who are as well.

Try Sam Ash, Coffin Case, Daisy Rock, Ernie Ball, Rockett, Vitamin Water, Energy drinks, and any products you personally enjoy. Have material prepared for how your band will help their product/image/company. Google!

4 which one is the cheapest option to make it real?
unsure of question

5 Nightliner or shared rooms what's best?
depends on budget. i would look into your fans/friends and couch surfer before booking a bus if you are on a budget. most inns/suites chains will have some sort of frequent buyer rewards program.

6 who could be interested in helping out (label, magazine, radio)?
contact everyone you know especially other bands. theres lots of free resources and networking online. plus free print zines, investors, companies, ect

7 How can I approach such people to involve?

be polite and ask if they'd like you to send samples. DO NOT attach anything to the email unless they ask you to send something. have a kit put together with your band info, tour info, and demographic plus selling points. be original.

keep detailed notes on everything you do and who you contact
